The Kingdom of Bhutan is a tiny landlocked mountainous country in South Asia, located in the eastern Himalayas mountain range between Tibet (China) in the north and India in the East, West and South. You can visit Bhutan either by air or by road, just depending on your choice.
By road: The only way is from India because the border with Tibet (China) is completely closed. Phuentsholing (Chukha district, western Bhutan) adjoining Jaigaon (Alipurduar district, West Bengal), Gelephu (Sarpang district, central Bhutan) adjoining Dadgiri (Chirang district, Assam), Samtse (Samtse district, western Bhutan) adjoining Chamurchi (Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal) and Samdrup Jongkhar (Samdrup Jongkhar district, eastern Bhutan) adjoining Mella Bazaar (NK Darrang, Assam) are only land border areas that open to tourists. As of now, only Indian tourists can enter Bhutan via land entry points (Gelephu, Samdrup Jongkhar, and Samtse).
By air: There are two airlines in Bhutan. They are Druk Air (The National Airline of the Kingdom of Bhutan) and Bhutan Airlines. There is only a solely Paro international airport in Bhutan. Druk Air connects Paro with Bagdogra, Kolkata, Delhi, Gaya, Guwahati of India, Dhaka (Bangladesh), Kathmandu (Nepal), Bangkok (Thailand), Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and Singapore. Bhutan Airlines connects Paro with Delhi, Kolkota, Mumbai, Bangalore, Gaya, Kathmandu, Sharjah (United Arab Emirates), Ho Chi Minh (Vietnam), and Bangkok.
