Thimphu to Punakha

Dochula Pass (3,050m). Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility). Punakha Dzong. Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten. Overnight in Punakha.

Day 03
Punakha to Gangtey
Punakha → Gangtey · 87km · ~3hrs · 2,900m

Gangtey Goemba (1613). Gangtey Nature Trail through meadows and blue pine forest. Black-necked Crane Centre. Overnight in Gangtey.

Day 04
Gangtey to Bumthang
Gangtey → Bumthang · 158km · ~6hrs · 2,800m

Yathra Weaving Center. Drive to Bumthang, the Spiritual Heartland with four valleys. Overnight in Bumthang.

Day 05
Bumthang sightseeing

Visit Jambay Lhakhang (7th century), Kurjey Lhakhang, Tamshing Monastery (1501), Lhodrak Kharchu Monastery. Overnight in Bumthang.

Morning flight from Bumthang to Paro. Afternoon at leisure. Visit Paro Rinpung Dzong and National Museum. Overnight in Paro.

Day 09
Paro – Chumphu Ney

Hike to sacred Chumphu Ney, one of Bhutan's top pilgrimage walks through pristine nature. Overnight in Paro.

Day 10
Tiger's Nest & Farewell

Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest). Visit Kyichu Lhakhang. Special dinner, hot stone bath. Last night in Paro.
